wiring chemetron 601
« on: August 20, 2014, 11:16:36 AM »
a painter removed a chemetron 601 heat detector and I need to reconnect it.  there are 2 sets of screws on the unit.  each pair has a continuity bar.  I have 4 wires coming to the unit  which are red, black, green and white.  how do I connect the wires to the unit?

Are any wires tied together?

You will need to determine which pair of wires are used for the initiating circuit.  Check at another sensor on that loop.  If unable to locate one, then check at the panel for that zone.

Chances are that it will be the green and white.  You'll terminate one wire on each bar.  The two remaining screws would probably be for the EOL resistor.
