DMP Enclosures/Casings/Lids are TERRIBLE
« on: July 04, 2015, 03:21:00 PM »
My company uses mostly DMP stuff, and while feature rich and easy to program, the enclosures give me ulcers.  It's SO hard to open anything without breaking it or scratching it in some way.  They need to start using a higher grade plastic, and/or hire some better product casing designers.

The 1106 is the worst of them all.  The plastic lid holders in the older ones snap off no matter how careful I am.  Changing a battery?  Better bring a brand new 1106, because the old one WILL break.  Conversely, the lids on the new models fall off so easily that customers are constantly getting tampers.

As for their other products, DMP says you're not supposed to turn your flathead when prying a lid off, yet there is no other way.  I hate giving customers dinged fobs and tokens, but it's impossible to avoid with DMP.

Sorry, just had to get that off my chest.  Love DMP, hate their casings.
