Smoke & CO2 alarm with z-wave
« on: August 10, 2015, 08:25:08 PM »
folks

I thought I had it nailed but can't find a single product to help me on this. I have these basic requirements
- 3 Interconnected smoke/carbon sensors so that if one detects something, all go off
- be able to talk to z-wave or homeseer

I can't find anything that does this. I found this but it's not interconnected
First Alert Z-Wave Combination Photoelectric Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm

Can anybody help?

Thanks

A smoke detector is a *very* important device - lives can depend on it properly working and notifying people there is a fire.

With that said, I would ONLY install and connect fire detection devices / alarms with the good old fashioned tried and true (U.L. tested and approved) methods.

Does HomeSeer support the Nest Protect?

They are combo smoke/co sensors and they connect via WIFI...

I don't know if they support hardwire interconnect or not...

Can you clarify your application a bit more also is this retrofitting into an existing house or a new house and are you trying to meet a local building code or is this just for your own personal safety?

Some of us do prefer to use traditional fire detection devices that yield time-tested outcomes. But there are some systems like the one provided by Honeywell that aren't interactive but provide a real quick tracking performance.
With home security system reviews of HomeSecurityList, you can make the best decision for your home and money.
