Napco 1008e VS Napco SS4509
« on: February 05, 2017, 06:56:22 PM »
Hi all,

My friend has a locked out SS4509 that he wants me to take over.  Easiest way would be to swap it for an identical panel, but I'm not sure what I should buy.  Somebody in the Exchange forum recommended BSASI as they have the SS4509 and MA1008E panels for around $115 per.  Does anyone here have a better idea?

There's not much documentation out there for the SS panels, is it the same programming as the MA1008E panels?  I would like to upgrade to a panel with a laptop connection, but I can't make a huge change to the system or else I'll have to get the fire department involved (it's a business).

I don't have much Napco experience, so any input would be much appreciated.  Thanks!

I would love to, I'm not sure if a complete panel model change is considered a significant change with the fire dept?  I have a fire license but I mostly do security, not current on all of the codes.

I have a used 9600, if it's compatible with the same keypads I suppose I could just use that.
