DX900 or DXL900 with NetworX IP Communication ModuleX-595E
« on: February 16, 2017, 08:37:37 PM »
I have a NX8 V2 panel. It has been programed for a few years.

I have installed a NetworX IP Communication ModuleX-595E which is now working and will send emails, I wish it would send texts also.

I 'm interested in the DX or DXL900 program.  Which program do I use?

Can I take the programming that is complete in the panel and download it to my laptop? This will allow me to have a backup and make any changes in the future.

Thank you-Rick

You want DLX-900 (there is no DX-900, though there IS a DL-900) and yes, you can download and upload to your heart's convenience over the web.

bramfrank,

What is the difference between  DL-900 and DXL-900 program?

Any instructions on using either program?

Thanks

The DLX supports the 595.  But it is a bit flakey, so you use DL-900 for installations that DON'T have the 595 IP card.

And if you want to program the 1800 series keypads you are best to use the 595 as it is integrated with the text features of those keypads.  Otherwise you are forced to enter all text manually at the keypad.

I currently have the nx-148 keypad.  What will the 1820 help me with?

Thanks

Nothing at all.  But if you had them and did not have an NX595 you would not be able to use either version of the software to program them.

So once more, for effect:

DL-900 if you do not have an NX-595
DLX-900 if you DO have a 595

Make certain you use the right program for the region you live in - the ones on the corporate (US) site are only for North American products.

Thank you bramfrank!

I went to the corporate (US) site and downloaded the DXL900 program and created a customer profile.

I'm trying to 'suck' out the data from the panel and save on the hard drive?

Also when I try to quit DLX900 it wont let me it says I need to disconnect from control panel.

How do I do that?

Thanks-Rick

Instead of rebooting, in either program, to disconnect, look for DISCONNECT under the DOWNLOAD menu item.
