Vista 20p and 5828 Keypad on Partition 2
« on: October 01, 2018, 07:33:24 PM »
Hi, I'm in the final throws of setting up a new 20p system. It is configured as follows:

- Vista 20p with zone doubling enabled on all wired zones (so I have zones 1-8 and 10-16 setup and working)
- 5883h (rev 4 chip required for the 5828 keypad) with numerous many zones and dip 6 on for transmit for the 5828
- 6160 as address 16
- 20 zones on partition 1 which would be for the house, 2 zones on partition 2 which would be for a garage
- House IDs set to 22, 23, 24 (part 1, part 2, common)
- 5828 set to House ID 23 (for partition 2), Vista panel and Vista protocol

The problem I'm having is the 5828 works perfectly on partition 1, but not on partition 2. On partition 2 it will arm and disarm but not show any partition status. So you never know if the partition is ready, armed or dis-armed.

I need to have a wireless keypad in the garage as there is no way to run the wires for a keypad to the garage.

Any suggestions on what could be done to rectify this? I was thinking about reversing all of the zones so that the garage was partition 1 and the house  was partition 2. Anybody see any issues with this? It does seem backwards to me.

Thanks for any help/

Your best bet is to reverse your partitions. Make partition one the garage, and partition to the house.
