Brinks/adt bhs 3101
« on: December 02, 2018, 09:26:53 AM »
I have a adt bhs 3101 beeping and inoperable.  It is flashing c1 n c5.   Communicating trouble with adt.  I was using it without being monitored but it wonít work now.  I donít need anything new like cameras hooked up to it.  I just have glass, motion and door n window contacts.  I have 30 zones on it.  I have two pads, up stars and down stars.  What panel and board do I need to hook this up without monitoring.  One that doesnít need to communicate with an alarm company.  Thanks a million.

Is this a Brinks keypad?  CP means communication problem, CS is a siren trouble.

The user guides are usually available online.  I'm using a BHS4000 system with expansion and wireless that I programmed myself.  Great systems, but if you don't have the proper equipment, there isn't much you can do to change how the system works.

If you're looking to replace this, with 30 zones, it could be rather involved.  Is it wireless?

it is not wire less.  I was wondering if I can just swap out the pads so I can use the system without having it monitored.  all the wiring is there.  how do you attach images on this forum?

So, swapping the keypads won't do any good.  The main control, which is that big tan metal box you have somewhere in your house - is what has the main control board for everything.  That will need to be reprogrammed, which requires the Brinks programmer.  But first, let's figure out what the trouble codes are.

The troubles re-sound after 24 hours.

What are the exact codes being displayed?  I'm guessing CP and CH.  I can help you, I just need a starting point, and we can go from there.
