DSC Power 832 Wireless
« on: February 02, 2019, 06:10:06 PM »
I would like to add wireless capability to my setup I have a DSC Power 832 with two LCD5500 keypad. I was thinking of getting a wireless receiver like model RF5132-433. I read that  the setup will be easier with a keypad  RFK-5500 or RFK-5501 can I use it with on of my old keypad LCD5500 or I have to replace both of them  with one RFK-5500 and the other one PK-5500. Thank you for your suggestion.

Yes you can use one of the old ones. Go with the RFK5500.

I have another question regarding the Pk5500 keypad upgrade, everything is configure the way we want for wired devices, we want to add a wireless motion sensor and 3 keyfobs other then configuring the partition and slot do I have any other configuration to do for example zone assignment?

Other than keyfobs, all transmitters need to have the zone definition programmed, partition assigned and Bit 8 turned on in 1xx where xx = the zone number.

You'll also need to go into [804] and enter the serial number for zone 9.  If you have a really old PC5010, it may ask for a 5 digit serial number instead of a 6 digit.  let us know if that happens, there's a conversion utility to convert the new serial number to the old 5 digit format.

enroll your fobs into zone 41 and 42 and they should just work.

Since you only have nine zones programmed, I'd leave Bit 8 off in 109 - 116 since there is no transmitter.  Likewise in 203 just turn Bit 1 on and leave 2 - 7 off.

This way if you're scrolling through the zones later, you won't see "Zone 10, Zone 11, Zone 12, etc."  After zone 9, it will got back to zone 1.
