DSC Alexor & Cell Phone Line
« on: March 12, 2019, 07:45:09 PM »
Just disconnected my land line and need to replace it with my cell phone number.  Should I dump the present Alexor system and replace, or should I add the

DSC LE4000-AT AT&T LTE Universal Cellular Alarm Communicator?

If I add this communicator, is it plug and play?  How does it talk between the Alexor and alarm company?  Do I need an alarm company, or can it be programmed to  only call the cell number?

Short answer is that it will require service with an alarm company who uses Connect 24, DSC's 3rd party cellular routing company.  If you're looking at self-monitoring, you'd need to upgrade to PC1616/1832/1864 and incorporate an Envisalink module tied to your internet.
