Sorry for another question.  I decided to setup a key fob for my wife since the Wireless keypad hit a snag.  I have a RF receiver 5881ENM which has 16 zones.  Our zones start at 33 and end at 48.  I had 6 wireless smoke & Co2 devices I install in 33-37.  I have a wireless door sensor in zone 38.  I started installing the key fob in zone 39 for disarm (22), zone 40 arm-away(21).  When I got to zone 41 I installed Arm-stay (20) and it did not work.  Confused I install arm-stay in zone 40 and it worked fine.

Arm-Stay setup.  40 (zone),20 (arm-stay),1 (Part),5 (Button), 0 (Comm),Axxx-xxxx, 4 (L).

I am a novice at the settings but it seems that zones 40-48 are not working or I need to change something in the setup to use them.  I took the cover off the 5881ENM and verified it was in fact a ENM not a EN.

Any advise would be greatly appreciated.

Hi All:

I added a Honeywell Wireless Keypad to my Security System Vista21ip.  I checked the Home ID and matched the keypad.  I have A/C adapter and the pad just displays No A/C  Not Ready.  I verified that the A/C was working by removing AA Batteries.  Works fine.  I can Arm Away(xxxx2), Arm Stay(xxxx3) and Disarm (xxxx1).  But I get no status at all.  I tried the setup [1] + [3] in both Lynx and Vista.  Setting are currently  [1] - xx house ID  [2] - 1 vista  [3] - 3 delay [4] - 1 noise enable  [5] - 2 Vista Controls  [6] - 1 single button.  I also have a 5881ENM Wireless Receiver.

Questions - should the LEDs Green and Red on left work (armed & ready)?  Also should the panel say A/C and ready to arm?  Should the chime work?

Appreciate any guidance & help here.

I have been searching for some time for an inexpensive IPCAM NVR that actually works...

I thought I might mention that I found one of the NVR that actually works well.  I picked up the DVR for $105 shipped and picked up a 4TB WD Purple drive for it.  So far so good.  I know it is a China made unit, but it works extremely well with my IPCAM Vivotek ONVIF cameras.  It records my 1MP & 2MP cameras at 15 FPS and can record up to 1 month of data on 9 cameras.

Not sure if it is ok to list links to other sights that have items for sale, but I will entertain any PM with more info if there is any interest.

Thanks,

M

Digital Security Video Recorders / NVR information ????
« on: October 23, 2014, 07:52:52 AM »
Not sure if anyone monitors this Video Recorder forum, but thought I would give it a try.  I am looking for a solution to record ~30 days of data from 6 POE IP cameras and 4 IP wireless cameras.  The cameras are 1280 x 960 and 1280 x 800 resolution @ 15 FPS.  Would like to view and search data on my Mac OS computer.  The cameras are currently setup with viewing software on my Mac, iPad and iPhone, it is really all about recording data and cycling 30 days or so.

I would appreciate any leads on good solutions to accomplish this.

Thanks,

M

I have recently replaced my vista 21ip board.  I have to send the old programmed vista 21ip back on an RMA.  I was wondering if there was a hard reset to clear all info that I can do.  I do not currently have a keypad hooked up to the board, just power.

Thanks,

M

My monitoring folks called and they said they received a notice from my panel "Radio Backup Primary Communication Path Supervision".  I believe this is because I tested the GSM with the IP disconnected.  The test was successful because the GSM did communicate with the IP disconnected.

Does this sound correct?

Thanks,

M

We have a Honeywell Tuxwifi and a 6280 keypad connected to our 21ip.  When the voice chimes announces a fault the are not even close to synchronized.  They could be more than a second apart.  Has anyone ever figured out how to tweek them to they are closer sync'd?  This can be very annoying in you are in-between the 2 keypads.

I know this is a stupid question, but I know how to set time on the Vista-21ip with the Tuxwifi and the Master code+#+63.  Is there a way like my security cameras to auto set time with one of the DNS time servers??  Had an alarm yesterday and I had been taking GSMs in and out of my system and forgot to set the time.  I know stupid me.  I had the panel in 2012 and all camera get their time automatically from a time server and were current.  The event was difficult to align up.    :o

Thanks,

M

I replaced my Vista-GSM with a GSM4G.  The Vista 21ip has the sticker on it that it is compatible and I liked the the Vista-GSM4G can communicate at the best available network 2G, 3G and 4G.  My old module had wall to wall signal strength (see photo).  This module has no signal strength only the red led at top.  I tried to test signal strength by test & status button, but nothing.  I ran a diag in the *29 and it reported no SCID or IMEI.  The status diag brought me a code "g" which means GSM off line.  Could this point to a bad sim card?

Do any members have any idea where to start to figure out why?

Thanks,

M

Alarm equipment and Security Cameras for sale / VISTA GSM
« on: July 27, 2014, 02:23:21 PM »
Folks I have a Vista GSM that won't work on my new board.  I will sell it for USPS shipping of $7 to US 48.  If the unit works for you I will take whatever you feel is a fair price.  The unit has worked for 18 months before on a older Vista 21ip board.  I changed out the main board.  If you feel like gambling $7 for a $150 unit please pm me.  Paypal is fine.  No guarantees.

I have not got a grasp on "configurable programming" for my 21ip yet.

Problem:

I have a wireless door sensor (ZN18) that I would to set as Chime only.  Not have it set any alarms off.  I am figuring I have to set it up as a configurable Zone type, but not sure how or where to start that.

Any hint, links etc... will be greatly appreciated.

One little problem after I installed a new 21ip because my Network connection was not working.  The error code is ZN103 LngRng Radio.  Checked all *29 entries all seem fine.  Any thoughts would be welcome.

Thanks,

Hello again...

Well I purchased a useless TUXWIFI.  The unit will not work on remote access.  It justs keeps asking for Username Password which I enter the simple one I set up under the LAN area.

Here is my question:

I noticed on the firmware site http://www.tuxedotouchtoolkit.com/Tuxedo-Touch-WiFi-software-updates.html that it references software revisions 4.4.36.W or 4.4.38.W.  I have version 4.4.32.W.  I can't find the referenced versions.  I am wondering if this would fix my unit?  All we simply do is set and unset the alarm from our iPhones.  This has worked great for the last 2 years on the TUXS that gave up the ghost.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

I am going to have to replace my 21ip panel.  I would like to write down all the data fields in the panel.  Can I manually press # + field number for every entry without changing the panel.  The panel works correctly in every way but notifying CS.  I obviously took some kind of surge over the RJ45 on panel.  The middle indictor light is off when connected to the router.

Thanks,

M
